Supported Accommodation
Shared Accommodation
We have some supported housing which is designed to provide short term accommodation (two years or less) while residents gear up for more independent living.
Residents have their own bedroom, but typically share lounge, kitchen and bathroom facilities. The level of staff support is geared to residents’ needs, but 24 hour cover is available on a number of our schemes.
Safe Houses
We have safe houses in the Eden and South Lakes area; where we provide support to people who are homeslless and have experienced physical., emotional, sexual or psychological abuse within a close or intimate relationship.
This could include
- Physical violence
- Verbal abuse or constant criticism
- Keeping you without money
- Threats
- Stopping you seeing family or friends
To Apply for Supported Housing
We accept some direct referrals from individuals, but mostly we take referrals from agencies including Social Services, Probation, Health Workers, the Police, etc..
We assess each application carefully. Although we provide supported housing to over 500 people in Cumbria, places are limited and it is not possible to help everyone who applies to us. We take into account whether we are likely to be able to provide the support a person’s particular needs while maintaining the safety and security of other residents.
