What is the project about?

The aim of the project is to provide accommodation and support to young people from various backgrounds.
The project can accommodate 8 young people between the ages of 16 and 25.  They each have their own bed-sitting room which comprises of TV, fridge, kettle, bedroom furniture, curtains & bedding, with a shared living room, bathrooms and shower rooms.  Kitchen and laundry facilities are also provided.
What kind of support is available?
 There is staff available on site daily and night support workers available throughout the night.   Each resident has an individual support plan that is tailored to meet their needs. This is reviewed regularly in key working sessions.
They will be allocated a support worker, who will work with them and help them to make informed choices on issues that are important to them.
This may include

• Benefits Advice
• Independent living skills
• Attending appointments
• Money management
• Alcohol & substance misuse issues
• Health Issues
• Confidence & relationship building
• Accessing leisure/community facilities
• Housing Issues
• Education/training/employment

The aim of the support plan is to encourage and help our residents to live independently.
They must be willing and able to work with the support provided.
Staff will assist in finding appropriate accommodation when the young people leave Close Street and a floating support service may be offered to assist in maintaining a tenancy.

How do I refer to the project?
Referrals are considered on an individual basis and are taken from all voluntary and statutory agencies
We are unable to consider referrals for young people who have

• Severe mental health problems
• Severe drug misuse issues
• A history of arson

In deciding on who to house, we will take into account the needs of the potential resident and balance this with the need to maintain a safe and secure environment for everyone.

Residents Rights
Each young person is housed under the terms and conditions of a licence agreement.  Their rights are set out in this agreement and in the information provided when they move in.  There house rules are included as part of the licence agreement. .

   We are committed to consulting with and involving residents in, the planning and delivery of a high quality housing and support service.  This is done through regular house meetings and key working.
We value each resident as an individual and promote mutual respect, both of themselves and others, within our schemes.
