What is the Eden Rural Foyer?
Some young people do not have the home, support and springboard into independent living, learning and work that they need. Foyers provide that support. Eden Foyer is the only foyer in Cumbria and, as such, is a fantastic resource for the area. The Foyer offers a wide range of services for young people and the wider community.
Housing
The Foyer has fifteen safe, comfortable and secure self-contained flats for single, young people. In addition to having a need for housing young people who live at the Foyer must also be willing to engage in training, education or employment.
We have dedicated, experienced support workers on site who work with our residents to assist them maintain their tenancies and deal with any other issues they are facing.
Eden District Council nominates people for 50% of our vacancies. The rest are available for nomination from other agencies or for direct application from young people. Contact the Foyer for a referral pack or more information.
Training 
At the Foyer we can offer many different types of training in a variety of environments, so whether you prefer to work in our lively cyber cafe or in our quiet training suite there will be a place for you.
We offer a wide range of training opportunities on site and through links with other training providers. Our training is for 16 years plus. Opportunities include:

E2E Our entry to employment training is designed to prepare young people aged 16-18 for work or further training. The training course combines basic skills, personal and social development and vocational training. Trainees qualify for an allowance and lunch is provided in our Cyber Café.

Cyber Café
The Foyer Cyber Café serves delicious, healthy food and drinks at affordable prices.
The computers offer fast, free access to the Internet. Our Café is open daily and a warm welcome is extended to everyone.
Meeting Room Hire/Conference Facilities
We offer rooms for hire at reasonable rates for meetings or for local groups. Further information can be downl;oaded from the link on the left of this page or contact the Foyer for details and availability.
Multi Cultural Services
Working in partnership with Cumbria Multicultural Service,
funded by Cumbria County Council, we offer a weekly drop-in service available on Thursday from 10:00am to 4:00 pm. Services on offer include

- IT Classes
- Asylum/Immigration Advice
- Advocacy
- Social Events
