Womens refuge, Carlisle
The aim of the project is to provide housing with support for women and children escaping domestic abuse. The refuge has 7 bedrooms, with a communal lounge, kitchen and two bathrooms.
There is staff available on site daily and night support workers available throughout the night. Each service user will have an individual support plan that meets their needs. The aim of the support plan is to encourage women to gain independence and regain control over their lives.
Each woman will be allocated an Independant living worker, who will work with them and help them to make informed choices on issues that are important to them.
Staff will support all women in the choices they make and will help them find permanent accommodation if appropriate.
