Abbots Bank

What is Abbots Bank?wpe21.jpg (13730 bytes)
Abbots Bank is a converted house for single homeless people.  It is a move on step from Pategill House, although it is not always necessary to live in Pategill House prior to moving into Abbots Bank.  It is designed to help people aged 16+ to get a feel for living independently.

What type of accommodation is there?
Abbots Bank has a full range of modern facilities.  There are six bed-sitting rooms with en-suite bathrooms.  There is a communal kitchen, laundry with washing, drying and ironing facilities and a communal lounge.

What staff and support is available?
There will be a member of staff in the building five days a week, and there will be staff who will be in and out over the weekend to check on the building and the residents.  The staff team at Abbots Bank is the same as Pategill House, so therefore the same types of support is available.  Residents are also free to call into Pategill House at any time to visit residents or staff.

How to become a resident.
The same process applies for Abbots Banks as it does for Pategill House.  Referrals are accepted from any statutory and voluntary agencies and self-referrals may be accepted.

What are the resident's rights?
The resident's rights are outlined in the licence agreement and in the Residents Charter, which are linked to their obligations when living in Pategill House.  The licence agreement and the Charter will be given on arrival.

Where do the young people move onto?
The next step from Abbots Bank would be to get a self-contained flat, or house,.  The project will enable and do it's up most to find accommodation from the local authority, Housing Associations or Private Landlords.
