Residents' Green Group
Awareness Today for a Brighter Tomorrow
Impact can exclusively reveal that there is now a Residents Green Group.
15 tenants expressed their interest to join a Green Group at the Residents’ Conference held in September 2006 after completing an Environmental Questionnaire. These Residents represent most Boroughs in Cumbria which means there is an excellent mix of people throughout the County. There is also staff support to assist with the group.
Impact takes environmental issues very seriously and this is reflected in the Policies. Impact’s Values state that:-
“We treat our resources with respect and use
them with conscious thought
We will use our resources in a way that minimises
harm to the environment
We actively consider new projects to help
the environment”.
This Green Group plans to check out all things environmental from how much we recycle as individuals to what Policies Impact has in place and how this is all measured and is it making a difference. Some of the first issues the Group will be looking at are:-
And that’s just for starters!
We recently held a Salterbeck Spring Clean 2007, we collected some feedback which you can read in the Record of Outcomes
We will also have regular articles in “Contact” so we can keep you updated on current issues. The Group is very new but we are very excited about having this opportunity. We are looking forward to the future and how we can help and encourage residents to live a more greener lifestyle.
Come along on this journey with us - we cannot make a difference without your interest and support.
