Impact Housing moved offices on 18th February 2002 to the former police station in Workington, which now combines the staff from Floating Support and Property Services with the HR, IT and Central Services functions. The Housing Management staff are in the reception area of the new offices to provide our usual service to our customers. There are now approximately 37 members of staff  based at this office.
We now have a large meeting room at which we can hold our meetings with Board, Committee members and our tenant representatives.

Excellent Feedback

Warwick Square received a letter from Rathbones (the Young People's Training Agency), commending our Leaps & Bounds Nursery, the quality of the training opportunities given to our student Donna Bryson during her placement.

Some of the comments were:

  • I have been extremely impressed
  • The standard of care and education is amongst the highest I have observed.
  • The nursery covers the curriculum with a range of highly innovative activities, well thought through and planned in detail.
  • The children are empowered (in my opinion) physically, socially, emotionally and with regards to their education.

Donna Bryson has now completed her NVQ Level 2 in Child Care ahead of schedule and has been put forward as student of the year.  The staff at Warwick Square wish Donna all the best and good luck with her NVQ Level 3

Great News!         Great News!         Great News!

Impact Housing recently received not one but TWO awards in one week.

The first award was “The Investors in people Award" which Impact very happily received at the Low Wood Hotel, Windermere.  This was a great achievement for us as it shows our commitment to staff and training throughout the organisation and the systems we have in place.

The second award was a regional winner in the annual “Health & Safety Executive’s National Awards”.  We were one of only two organisations in the whole of Cumbria to receive this award.  The award was picked up at the Bolton Wanders Stadium and was to recognise all our efforts in raising awareness on Health & Safety Issues.  This was a great achievement.

Pictured from Left with the two awards outside the Head Office: Steve Holliday (Director of Human Resources), Mike Muir (Chief Executive) and Lisa Ford (Senior Admin Assistant).

Salterbeck’s bloomin’ marvellous!!

Three small neglected open areas of Salterbeck, Workington, are due for a makeover, thanks to a community effort and £1000 cheque from the Tidy Britain Group, presented at the Oval Centre, Salterbeck.

The application for funds came about as a collaboration between Salterbeck Residents’ Association and the Harrington in Bloom Committee.

Three small parcels of land, one of them close to the Oval Centre, are to be cultivated and planted with flowers, plants and shrubs.

An arrangement is being made with Salterbeck St Mary’s RC Primary School for the work to be done by children.
