Who we work with Up ACE Community Centre

Salterbeck Residents Association (S.R.A.) & Salterbeck Sports Association

S.R.A.
Local people who wanted a say about what happens in their community formed the Salterbeck residents Association in 1995.  They aim to make Salterbeck a place to respect.  To bring improvements to the estate which are sustainable.  They work closely with the Community development Workers from Impact Housing and Salterbeck ACE to progress the regeneration of Salterbeck and to provide sustainable opportunities for all.

Scheme, which is to work closely with Impact Housing to work through any issues or ideas.

We have recently received a cheque for £1000 from Tidy Britain Group which is great news (hyperlink to news page.)

What we are doing:

·         We have been involved with Impact, ACE and community police officers.

·         Given donations to youth, sport and children’s activities on the estate

·         Worked with groundwork Trust and secured funding for a Play Area.

·         Holding a summer fete

·         Area Reps scheme

·         Estate agreements

·         Joint community plan with Harrington Neighbourhood forum

Salterbeck Sports Association
This was formed in 1998 to develop and support initiatives on the estate.  This group has been the nucleus from which two local football teams, a rugby team, a netball team, darts team, pool team and junior sports team have been formed.  This group has also financed, co-ordinated and delivered youth tournaments, coaching sessions and helped local residents access training courses.  This group is again a partnership between local residents and local agencies.

If you want to get involved or would like more information contact Anne Payne on or 01900 833100.
