Senior Management Group

Impact is controlled by its Board and managed by its staff. We have around 120 staff and have a very strong relationship with the Board.

The Executive Team currently consists of Bryonie Shaw – Managing Director and Andrea Thorn - Assistant Director who are supported by the Heads of Service.

Impact became a subsidary of The Riverside Group Ltd on 20th August 2018.

Bryonie Shaw - Managing Director 

I joined Impact Housing in the Summer of 2015 as Director of Support & Communities, following several years working in housing for both housing associations and local authorities across Greater Manchester.  Immediately prior to joining Impact I was the Head of Housing Options at New Charter Housing Group, based in Greater Manchester.  I was responsible for Local Authority contracted Housing Advice and Homelessness services in Tameside and Knowsley local authority areas. I also had lead responsibility for managing our voids repairs and turnaround targets alongside our allocations and relet service, this included developing new policy directions and liaison with local authorities. 

I have worked at Oldham Council as Head of Housing Needs, commissioning Homelessness and Housing Advice services for the borough.  I have worked in housing for nearly 20 years mainly in the supported housing and homelessness fields. I became a member of the National Housing Federation group on the future funding of supported housing in 2016, to help shape and inform the Federation’s policy activities to develop a credible preferred model for funding housing costs.  I believe in continual self-improvement and professional development and became a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing in 2016 following the completion of the experienced practitioner route.

Andrea Thorn - Assistant Director 

I have joined Impact with over 30 years’ experience in the social housing sector and 12 years’ experience in senior leadership roles.  My entire career to date has been with Home Group where I spent 27 years developing and delivering high quality services to customers and communities across Cumbria before spending the last 3 years as Assistant Director in the South.  I have operational leadership experience of customer contact services, income management, housing management, neighbourhood management, repairs & maintenance, regeneration, community development, leasehold and supported housing.  I also have extensive experience of partnership working and was the lead for the development of Cumbria Choice.  I was a key influencer in the stock transfer in Copeland and has experience of integrating businesses and services which will assist us as we develop our partnership with Riverside Group.  I have been a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing for 27 years.

Sarah Boyle - Head of Social Enterprise 

The majority of my career to date has been in Social Housing. Initially with the London Borough of Richmond, joining Impact Housing Association in 2002. I work to develop social enterprise business with customers at the centre. The business includes County wide re – use projects , external contracts and a community hub, all of which prioritises and supports Cumbrian communities. All services aim to provide training, work experience and employment opportunities. I also has experience of Foyers and social enterprise business that sits within them.

Anne Rogers - Head of Customer Experience 

I am the Head of Customer Experience for Impact, with responsibility for corporate performance, customer services and tenant engagement. I have worked in the housing sector for the majority of my career specifically  in the areas of Housing Strategy, homelessness, development and supported housing. Prior to my employment with Impact I worked for the Housing Corporation and Local Authorities in greater Manchester and Cumbria

Lisa Ford – Governance & Legal Manager

I am the Governance and Legal Manager for Impact, with responsibility for governance, regulatory compliance, health and safety, policy framework and communication.  I have worked at Impact Housing for over 22 years covering aspects of , admin, executive support, public relations, health and safety and in recent years compliance and governance.  I also represent Impact as Deputy Company Secretary with the Company Secretary role being held by the Riverside Group Co. Secretary.

Simon Aldred - Head of Finance 

I am a qualified accountant with over 35 years of experience in a variety of finance roles, predominantly in social housing.  I have worked for Riverside Group for the last 13 years as Financial Controller, Assistant Director, and most recently Finance Business Partner. I was seconded to Impact as Head of Finance in April 2019 to lead the Finance team and help with integration with Riverside.  I have significant experience of budgeting, forecasting and business planning, statutory and management reporting, continuous improvement, systems implementation and project management.  I have highly developed IT skills across the Microsoft Office suite as well as other dedicated software systems.

Andrew Oates - Head of Housing 

Andrew has worked in housing for over 30 years for a variety of Local Authorities and Housing Associations across the North of England and Midlands. His background includes Housing Management, Supported Housing , Community Engagement and Regeneration. Andrew’s significant career achievements include restructuring of older persons housing services, setting up new services for vulnerable adults, development of a customer contact centre and forming a charity to develop employment, training  and wellbeing projects in Merseyside.

Lauren Courty - Property Services Manager 

I am the Property Manager for Impact, I started with Impact Housing in Summer 2018 working in the compliance team before moving into the Property Manager role. My previous work experience is based largely in the Nuclear Industry managing large scale projects in Health & Safety and Risk Mitigation. I work to keep our customers homes safe, working with our contractors to lead the repairs & compliance activities and drive service improvements in both Health & Safety and Asset Management.

Phil Wilkinson - Stock Investment Manager 

I joined Impact Housing in December 2018 following a secondment period where I was working for Riverside both recently in Liverpool and Carlisle for the previous 5 years.  As Contracts Manager I was leading on the service delivery of the planned maintenance and cyclical programmes plus the service contracts for Riverside within the Asset Management area of the business.

Prior to this I worked in the private sector, employed for 14 years by an established Chartered Building Surveying company in Carlisle. I established the social housing department within the company and worked with several housing associations as well as delivering projects for private and commercial clients.

Prior to joining Riverside I ran my own business providing a building and social housing consultancy to a variety of public and private sector clients. I have over 23 years’ experience of working in the social housing sector with several housing associations within Cumbria and further afield.

Within Impact Housing my primary responsibility is to deliver the £25m Investment Programme over the next 3 years.
