Resident Involvement

The Tenant's Forum -  a place to air and share views about our services

In Spring 2001 we held our first Tenant's Forum.  because this was our first ever Forum we only invited a small number of tenants and residents.  However, it was a great afternoon and we got a lot of lively feedback on a range of services including customer care and repairs.

We are planning another Forum meeting this October.  This time we will invite a larger number of tenants and residents.  The topic for this meeting will be the painting of the outside of your home, and which services you think we need to put most effort into improving for the future.

The Forum is really just an informal meeting for a few hours between tenants, residents and staff.  We have a light lunch and a coffee, and then share views on different parts of our services.

Although we send invitations for Forum meetings, these tend to be to a small number of people.  This isn't because we don't want everyone's views, but that we couldn't handle a meeting with all of our tenants and residents at once!  However, if you are an Impact tenant or resident and would like to join the Forum please email with your name and address or ring Jane on 01900 66938.  We'd love to hear from you!

Tenant Involvement in Best Value

We have an ongoing programme to review all of our services to make sure they are good value and are what tenants and residents want and need from us.

An important part of this - we couldn't do without you - is to get the views of our tenants and residents on the services we do provide.  Are they good? Bad? What do we need to change?

So far we have received tenant feedback on our Repairs, External Painting and Decorating, Empty Properties and Lettings, and some of our Hostel Services.  At the moment we are looking at how we deal with Rent Arrears and our Tenant Support Worker and Floating Support Services.

For all of these reviews we have consulted with different tenants or residents and have been very grateful for the time and trouble you have taken to respond to us.

So far most of the consultation has been by talking to you, phoning or sending questionnaires.  Our Arrears Review Group has a tenant member directly taking part in the review.

The next step will be for Impact to issue a report to you setting out what things we are going to improve and when, and what difference it will make to you.  This will go out with the December Newsletter, and will also appear on this Web Site.

If you are an Impact Tenant or Resident and would like to be part of a review group, or be involved in the consultations for any particular topic we would love to hear from you.  Please either e-mail with your name and address or phone Jane on 01900 66938.
