Riversides first new builds in West Cumbria

Earlier this year Riverside and Impact bought seven new homes from a developer for rent at a new development in Workington, West Cumbria – a first in the area for Riverside. The new homes are managed by Impact locally, who have already housed seven families from the area. All seven new customers are small families with one to two children.

The new homes, a mix of two and three bedroom houses at Solway View, Graylings Way are perfect for those looking for some extra space and with the bonus of a lovely playpark on the estate.  The homes are close to a large retail park with supermarkets and shops and are by the sea wall with lovely views and sunsets.

Even though there was a delay in handover, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the families looking to move in were patient and excited to do so. Here’s what some of them had to say, once they had settled in:

Brittany a new young mum was more than happy to wait for her keys for her new home. During lockdown she gave birth to her son and when she received her keys she began eagerly planning and ordering her furnishings. This is Brittany’s first home, leaving her parents and setting up home with her new baby. She loves the house and the quiet location, which also has a small play park within the estate.

Brittany said: “This is my first home with my little boy who is six weeks old so it’s a nice start for us. I can see myself being really happy here and comfortable. The estate looks really nice, and it all seems brilliant so far”.

Georgia was delighted to get a three-bedroom home after her family struggled in a two bedroom private rented house as it had very little outside space. They all love the house and couldn’t wait to move as soon as it was possible. They enjoy the space, garden and quiet location with added benefit of a play park. They have never had a water metre before so are monitoring their usage to see how this works out for them.

Georgia said: “I see this as our forever home with all the space we needed, Charlie, my eldest has autism so it’s great he can have his own bedroom and loves having the freedom of a garden to play in”.
