Press release: Key interim appointments will support Impact Housing Association through transition

Impact Housing Association (Impact) has made key interim appointments to help steer the organisation through the changes needed to regain a compliant grading from the social housing regulator the Homes and Communities Agency. Geraldine Kay has been appointed as Interim Managing Director, supported by Keith Tallintire as Interim Director of Business Transformation, both appointments commence in July.

Geraldine Kay has over 25 years of leadership and organisational change experience in the housing sector. She was the former Chief Executive of the highly successful Derwentside Homes where she established a financially strong, high performing and community focused award winning company and recently led on its merger with two North East Housing Associations to form Karbon Homes.

Geraldine says “I’m really looking forward to working with the Impact team to drive through the changes needed to recover their regulatory grading and also build a strong viable foundation for the future. Impact has a strong reputation in Cumbria for their community focus and innovative housing solutions. We need to build resilience and financial strength so Impact can continue to meet the housing needs of local people.”

Keith Tallintire also joins Impact on a part-time basis as Interim Director of Business Transformation. Keith has worked alongside Geraldine Kay as Director of Resources at Derwentside Homes and brings a wealth of financial and business development skills.

Chair of Impact Housing Association, Mark Costello said “We are fortunate to be in a position to work with Geraldine and Keith and have the right balance of skills to help us make the necessary changes.

“Geraldine’s governance and regulation experience, together with her strategic planning and change management skills will make a crucial difference. She will work with the Board, Senior Management Team and HCA to address the issues raised in the Regulatory Judgement.

“With the support of Keith’s commercial background and financial expertise, we are confident we have the full skill set to support the Impact team, enabling us to make the necessary changes and improvements to our processes and reduce our financial risk, working towards a compliant grading when we are reviewed.”
