Exciting New Affordable Housing Scheme for Bootle
Impact Housing Association is building fourteen new houses in Bootle. They will all be let to local families on affordable rents. The scheme is being partly funded by Government’s Homes and Communities Agency. The capital cost will be £1.9m, with the balance being raised by Impact and paid back through the rents. Rents will be just over £100 per week. The scheme started on site in 2013 and will be completed in 2014.
Mike Muir, Impact’s Chief Executive, said “This is the first social housing to be built in Bootle for many years. We’re really pleased to be building these new rented houses to help local families stay in their local community. Even with the recent slight reduction in house prices in West Cumbria, home ownership is going to continue to be out of reach for most local families on average incomes for the foreseeable future. ”
The houses will all be built to very high insulation levels and are designed to keep running costs as low as possible for residents.
