The Croft Farm Project

The Croft Farm project is a weekly event set up for residents within Impact Housing services. The project was originally set up in 2011 but when funding came to an end, the single homeless service submitted an application to Cumbria Community Foundation. We were subsequently funded to continue to project for another year.

Starting from January 2013, each Friday, a group of interested residents attend the farm at Houghton and Wallacefield at Armathwaite to gets hands on experience of working on a farm. Tasks can include, feeding and tending to the animals, fencing, jam making, building on/and maintaining the farms grounds. At the same time residents can meet new people, increase their confidence and gain worthy skills for personal development.
