New Initiatives  
Develops many of the major new projects in the organisation.  Impact has always been at the forefront of developing new ideas in Cumbria and a small team was set up in late 1998 in recognition of the need for this work to continue into the future. The team draws on the expertise of staff from other parts of the organisation; our client group (for example, young people); and specialist agencies to plan and implement projects.  
We have been involved in:-

• commissioning research into the support needs of young people in Cleator Moor
  

• Contributing to the regeneration of Workington by playing an active part in the SRB Board and Young peoples Topic Group
  

• Developing Foyer type schemes in Carlisle and Eden which combine housing, employment, advice & support, training and leisure opportunities for disadvantaged young people

• Researching the needs of our existing tenants 
  

• Building on the Workington regeneration activities, we will be taking an active part in regeneration in both the rural and urban parts of the county.
