On top of all the useful general information about projects, housing facts and rights, research etc - Shelter have just launched a new website offering comprehensive housing advice specifically aimed at young people.
The new website offers in-depth practical and legal advice on the full range of housing problems. This includes dealing with rogue landlords, targeted advice for students and care leavers and help with money matters such as raising deposits.
The Know Your Rights website can be accessed through the main shelter website at

Shelter Cumbria offer a countywide service offering free specialist housing advice. We run housing surgeries across the county and offer appointments and a drop in service from our Penrith office. We also offer telephone advice.
Our public advice line is 0845 120 4565. We also run specific projects offering advice and support to ex-offenders and older people.
