Go4it! Project
What is Go4it!
Go4it! is an exciting new project that young people in the participating schools will be involved with throughout their time in Secondary School. Research tells us that young people have high aspirations at the age of 11, but their hopes for the future fall somewhat from the age of 11 to 16. Local employers also tell us that young people leaving schools need to further develop their skills to be ready for employment. Go4it! aims to ensure that young people maintain their high hopes for the future, whilst developing beneficial relationships with local employers. They will be able to recognise their strengths and talents and have the confidence to be able to Go4it! and realise their ambitions.
How will Go4it! work?
We will have a staff team that work with the schools to deliver fun and interactive sessions with the pupils. We will be connecting the pupils to local employers and working with them to deliver inspirational sessions about different types of careers. We will be organising opportunities for every pupil to take part in work taster sessions, question and answers sessions with leading employers, and have a personal mentor that helps them set out a plan for their future.
The programme will be focussed, but also fun so we expect each young person will look forward to the time they spend on the programme.
