CLOSE STREET

Close Street provides Supported Accommodation for single young people aged 16 – 24 years.  The house is for both male and female Young People.

Young People must be referred to Close Street, and this can be from statutory or voluntary organisations.  Referrals are looked at individually and then an interview is arranged for the young person.  The young person can bring someone with them to the interview; this can be the person who referred them, a family member or a friend.  The interview is quite informal and it gives the young person a chance to have a look around, meet the staff and to get an idea of what Close Street is about.

We have standardised referral procedures, which include an appeals process.
Close Street is shared accommodation so therefore the young people share a range of facilities which include bathrooms, lounge, laundry and kitchen.  Kitchen equipment is provided, as is a laundry with washing machines and dryers for use, free of charge.
In each room the young person is provided with all the necessities: bed and bedding, wardrobes, drawers, coffee table, fridge, TV and a kettle.  The lounge also has a TV and a video.
Close Street houses a range of young people with different backgrounds with a variety of  support needs.  The young people can stay at Close Street for up to two years, and there is also the opportunity to move on to one of our 4 flats where Outreach Support is provided.
