Carlisle is Cumbria’s regional centre. There are some thriving areas of the city but also some pockets which are disadvantaged with unemployment and disaffection among young people. Most of Cumbria’s temporary hostel accommodation for young people is situated in Carlisle. Whilst there is good provision of supported housing, training and employment many young people may still feel out on a limb.
Centre 47 is a place which young people may want to come to.  It provides support, personal development, training and employment opportunities tailored to their individual needs. C47 plays its part to ensure that all young people have the chance to be responsible and fulfilled individuals -  they will leave with a positive sense of achievement.

We are working with young people and in conjunction with many local agencies to achieve our aims: -

Impact Housing, Carlisle City Council, Cumbria Connexions, Carlisle College, Cumbria Institute of Art, CASS, Employment Services, Social Services, Cumbria County Council and Cumbria Waste Management.
