WHAT GOES ON IN CLOSE STREET

House meetings take place on a regular basis.  This is where the young people get together with staff and discuss issues in the house.  This gives the young people a chance to get their views across and also for staff to take the young peoples ideas into consideration.  Refreshments i.e pizza or chips are always provided by staff so it also gives staff and residents a time to enjoy a meal together.

Video Nights - Staff take a few of the young people to chose a video and some popcorn and enjoy a night in.

Cooking Group - The young people decide on a choice of meal and staff provide the ingredients and assist in the preparation and cooking.

Recent Events

Staff and residents enjoyed a day at Warcop doing a variety of different activities, such as the assault course, shooting and go-kart building.

After lots of discussion during the house meeting, the young people chose a colour scheme for the lounge and it has just been decorated.

At Christmas we prepared for a Christmas meal in a restaurant, and the Christmas meal in Close Street.

Future Events

Residents are now taking part in the interview process for Impact.  A selection of young people are part of the interview panel for some of the new jobs which have just begun with Impact.

Staff are also looking for fundraising for a possible weekend away for the young people.
