Salterbeck A.C.E.

Salterbeck Alliance for Community Enterprise (ACE) was established in 1997 to look at the economic regeneration of the Estate.  It is a limited company, with a voluntary management committee.  Anyone over the age of 18 whom is in agreement with it’s aims and objectives can become a member along with organisations who agree with it’s objectives.

Aims & Objectives
To provide training, employment and volunteering opportunities for peoples, especially but not exclusively living in Salterbeck, Workington and surrounding areas.

To preserve, protect, improve and enhance in any way for the benefit of the public the amenities and employment opportunities in Salterbeck, Workington and surround areas.

Management Committee
The management committee is made up of various members; four as representatives from organisations and twelve from the community. 

Impact Housing works in partnership with Salterbeck ACE on the ongoing development of activities, service and opportunities for local residents.

Salterbeck ACE owns and manages the Oval Centre, they also employ a local Landscape team who are responsible for the maintenance for the local environment, they hold the contract for Landscape Maintenance from Impact Housing Association.

The Community development Workers from Impact work closely with Salterbeck ACE in the development and delivery of activities fro local people e.g. Youth Club, Holiday activities for children and young people and the over 50’s club.
