Here’s Simon and Michael along with there emotional poem which shows their experiences.

“It’s My life”

I lived on the streets,
no friends, just deadbeats.
Dosing around each and every night,
avoid the trouble stay out of sight,
Dirty, hungry black and blue,
standing all night to stay in the soup queue.
A voice said to me you can’t live like this,
No love, no hope, no hug, no kiss,
leave this dirty town behind.
You’ve got a future a brand new life,
you’ll find a home, you’ll find a wife.
You don’t have to steal to eat,
you can stand on your own two feet.
So I woke from the bad dream,
and moved to where the air is clean

by Michael Kimble

“I am Simon”

I am Simon.
I have a learning difficulty.
I have feelings like everyone else.
Sometimes I laugh, sometimes I cry,
But I don’t let bad feelings get me down.
I Keep a happy smile on my face.
I laugh with people.
I push myself to the limit.
I have so much to give.
I help other people.
I care for other people.
I am Simon.
See the good I do,
Not the disability
