The Neighbourhood Team.
The Neighbourhood Team aim be the public face of Impact Housing; working with tenants, residents and partners to develop successful people and communities.
Over the last three years we have met face to face over 95% of Impact tenants in their own homes. We feel this gives the Neighbourhood Team a unique relationship with tenants and means that we know the issues that affect them and the Places they love. This also means that tenants know who their coordinator is and how to easily contact us. Over recent months, the big issue affecting many tenants has been the changes to Housing Benefits and the team continue to work with tenants and our colleagues in Income Management and Housing Options to make sure that we support people in making any payments due because of under occupancy; and also to support people to move to smaller homes where this is possible. The next big challenge is the move to Universal Credit and this will start to be rolled out from October. Between now and then the Neighbourhood Team will be carrying out more home visits to talk to those tenants most likely to be affected about effective application for the new Credit, access to the Internet, as all applications will be on line, and making sure people are as prepared as they can be. We will also be talking to tenants about Impact's offer on volunteering, work club opportunities and training and employment skills development. Also keep an eye out for Roadshow events across Cumbria where we will be bringing out information and advice on the Welfare Benefit changes and other important issues. Many things we do are advertised on our Facebook Page. Please have a look and like us!
The other thing the team has been doing recently has been the further work on the Neighbourhood Plans for schemes across Cumbria. Please look at the coordinators pages for more details, but we are hoping to have simple agreed tasks to improve the places where people live. We will continue to be out and about in the places where tenants live, making sure that they are safe and secure.
Please remember that the Neighbourhood Team deals with Neighbour Nuisance and anti social behaviour and if you are experiencing any, please let us know.
If you have any queries about your home, your finances, support needs or any other issues, please get in touch with your coordinator directly or give me a call, text or e mail. We may be able to help.
