The Let go service

Letgo is an independent service for women & men affected by domestic violence. We have helped many hundreds of people in North Cumbria to get their lives back on track, regain their self respect and make real choices about their relationships, whether they decide to stay or leave their partner or family.

We are a nationally accredited ‘Leading Light’ service offering high quality support. We work with people who have been identified as being at ‘high-risk’ of further violence and abuse using the CAADA-Dash risk assessment tool. We also support people who have cases proceeding through the Specialist Domestic Violence Court (SDVC).

Our aim is to work with you to ensure your safety and the safety of your children. 

What support can we provide?

• An Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to listen and support you.
• Safety planning, specific to a survivor’s individual circumstances.
• Support and information regarding criminal justice processes and options, including support to attend court.
• Information and support regarding civil legal options available e. g. Non-molestation Orders.
• Information and support regarding other related issues and accessing other services which may enhance safety - this may include housing options, health & mental health services, drug & alcohol services and safe accommodation.
