HALO Project

 

What is HALO?

Healthy Aspirations and Learning Opportunities (HALO) Project is a multi-agency project developed by Carlisle Homeless Improvement Partnership (C.H.I.P) and with funding from the Northern Rock Foundation. 

It aims to improve services for homeless people across Carlisle, by bringing together voluntary and statutory agencies.  The HALO film shows what the project is about, please scroll down to the bottom of this page and click on the film to play.

Who runs it?

Impact Housing Association is the host organisation for the HALO Project.

Carlisle Homeless Improvement Partnership (C.H.I.P)  is the steering group for the HALO Project.  CHIP members include Impact Housing Association, Salvation Army, Carlisle City Council, Cumbria Action for Social Support (CASS), Riverside and we are supported by Northern Rock Foundation and Homeless Link.    

What does the HALO Project offer me?

The HALO Project offers a variety of weekly activities and special projects/events for homeless & vulnerable people, The HALO Development Group offers people a chance to share ideas for activities and talk about services.

Regular weekly HALO activities:

Monday's 10am-11am          - HALO Football Project training session at Neil Sports Centre, Carlisle Utd

Monday's 7pm                      - HALO Football Project team play in local league (Richard Rose Central Site)  

Tuesday's 12.30pm-3pm  - NEW Introduction to Computers (ICT) Course at Greystone Community Centre

Wednesday's 2 - 3pm           - HALO Football Project training / skills session at Sheepmount

Thursday's 12noon- 3pm    - HALO Community drop-in at Salvation Army, St Nicholas Gate

Friday's 10am- 3pm             - Croft Farm Project, FREE transport provided
