Centre 47 is a place that provides support, personal development and training opportunities for those unemployed or on a low income.
Centre 47 is an ideal place to hold meetings, special events or just for an informal get-together. We have three suites available for rental and we can offer whatever facilities you may need - just ask! You can download a copy of our meeting room brochure and buffet menu here
Fanplastic
As part of our ongoing efforts to demonstrate the beneficial possibilities of reusing waste products and unwanted items, we plan to establish a small-scale plastic recycling facility at Centre 47, called Fanplastic.
The proposed Fanplastic project will operate within our existing Carlisle operation at Centre 47, and will demonstrate the practical application of a relatively low-tech solution to a major waste management issue. We will take everyday items of plastic such as yoghurt pots or milk containers and quickly, safely and cleanly transform them into a reusable material. Impact Furniture Services
Also here at Centre 47 we offer a furniture recycling service.
Impact Furniture Services have a large range of good quality, second hand furniture available for sale at reasonable prices.We also take donations of re-useable household items and furniture that is no longer required.

Livewire
Impact Furniture Services has also developed Livewires, a domestic electrical appliance project in conjunction with Carlisle City Council.
The Livewires project tests and repairs all appliances that can be reused; these appliances are then available at all three sales outlets.Livewires has been set up following government legislation, which prevents this type of waste going to landfill sites.
