Overlooking the River Caldew and next to the Carlisle Castle,
the Old Brewery Halls of Residence is an ideal place for youth hostel visitors to stay during their time in Carlisle.
Accommodation
The Old Brewery is a self catering Youth Hostel with single study rooms arranged in six and seven bedroomed flats.
Each flat has a fitted kitchen, with main electrical appliances provided and a living area. Individual study bedrooms are equipped with wash-basin, desk/drawer unit, wardrobe and bed. A bathroom, shower and two WCs are also provided in each flat.
All flats have gas central heating and an intercom system for added security. A number of flats have been specially designed to accommodate visitors with disabilities.
The Old Brewery has a range of facilities for use by Hostellers. These include a laundrette,TV and general lounge.There are also limited number of parking spaces available and a locked bicycle store. The site benefits from CCTV security.Wireless internet access is also available in the lounge area.

Ideal Location
Carlisle has many attractions including the beautiful Cathedral, Tulle House Museum and Art Gallery as well as the castle. It has a great shopping centre with the lanes complex being complimented by a choice of prestigious shops and a Victorian covered market.
Carlisle offers vibrant and varied nightlife including pubs, clubs, multiplex cinema, 10-pin bowling and a host of restaurants cafes and bistros. The Sands Centre nearby hosts a varied programme of top quality productions throughout the year ranging from theatre and ballet to classical, pop and rock music. It is also a popular sporting venue offering excellent facilities for a wide variety of sports.
Good road links make the city and surrounding areas easily accessible to visitors. The castle is in close view of the Residences and the City Centre coach station and railway station is only 10 minute walk.

Reception Open from 8am—10am and 5pm-9pm when guests are issued with keys so they can have 24hr access to their flat.
